Warsaw: 52 approaches, 5 Lays
Unlike previous years, this time I stuck mostly to one city. I started the year in full hibernation mode and didn’t really crawl out until late April. I began making regular trips to Warsaw around that time, and the city didn’t treat me badly. On my last trip this summer, and for the first time in ages, I actually tracked my stats and decided to share them. Looking back now, a few interesting things in my game stand out, along with some points I know I can still sharpen.
To put it in perspective, here’s the breakdown of my last Warsaw run:
| Metric | Count | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Approaches | 52 | Street stops, indoor, bars, and one club night |
| Blowouts | 4 | Girls who completely ignored my opener |
| Numbers closes | 28 | Mix of Polish & foreigners |
| Solid | 15 | Girls I texted with for at least a couple of days |
| Dates | 8 | Afternoon coffees + drinks (no dinners!) |
| Lays | 5 | Includes 2 SDLs |
So, 52 approaches in 21 days turned into 28 numbers, 15 of those kept the conversation going, 8 turned into dates, and 5 ended in lays. Roughly one girl for every ten opens. For such a short trip, that’s pretty decent.
Interestingly, the ratios stayed steady the whole way. About half the opens resulted in numbers, about half of those stuck around long enough to text for a while, and about half of those showed up at least for a date. Once I was on a date, it was basically mine to lose. Five lays from eight dates is a pretty good conversion ratio. An area I definitely need to sharpen is text game and logistics. About half of the “solid” numbers never turned into dates. Pretty normal, but still a leak. Faster meetups, tighter texting, and keeping the momentum alive should bump that up.
Quality was mixed. While it’s always pretty subjective, by my own judgment, I believe I had a 6 (don’t ask for pictures!1), two 7s, and two 8s, with ages ranging from 19 up to 36. There was variety in nationalities too: Polish, Ukrainian, and even an Azerbaijani, which gave me a new flag. Three lays came from daygame and two from nightgame, a nice balance that kept things interesting. One 8 and one 7 are very nice girls that I’m definitely gonna keep around and will be seeing next time I'm in Warsaw.
It all felt pretty consistent. after ten years of doing this, you just know what you’re doing once you get things moving. I did pretty bad, however, on the volume front. Back when I started, I’d sometimes rack up 50 approaches in a single week. In Warsaw I did 52 across three weeks, which puts things in perspective. With numbers like this, more opens would almost automatically mean more results, although I don’t necessarily strive for that. I stayed for about four weeks in Warsaw and did zero approaches on my last week, enjoying my time with the girls I met during this or previous trips. This is to say that efficiency isn’t the problem. Once I get things rolling, the rest flows. Where I dropped results was simply in not approaching enough. Three weeks with 52 opens is fine, but nowhere near the grind I used to put in.
All in all, I'm pretty satisfied from this last trip Warsaw. Five lays in three weeks of active approaching, good quality, international mix, and a balance between day and night. Not a bad outcome for a year that started with me doing nothing.
I'll add later a post about my own HB scale.↩
